My package is lost/missing. What should I do?
We’re sorry you're having issues with your order delivery. Let's fix it together!
If you believe your package is lost in transit:
- Contact the carrier that last had your package. For free shipping this is UPS.
- 8 days may pass with no shipping update due to transit times and carrier scanning method.
- If it has been more than 8 days with no update, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team for further assistance.
If your tracking says delivered from the carrier:
- Check your mailbox as well as areas around your front door or mailroom.
- Check with the carrier.*
- Check with neighbors to see if they have your order, it could have been delivered next door.
- Still can't find your package? If your package still hasn't turned up in 48 hours, please reach out to our Customer Experience Team for further assistance.
Please contact us within 7 days of your package being marked as delivered.
What is Uncommon James' Return Policy?
We’re confident you’ll love our products, but if something’s not the right match for you we have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee on everything. If you need to make a return, you can begin the process online through our Return Center or at any of our store locations.
During the holidays we have an extended return period. Purchases placed between Nov 1, 2025 -Dec 24, 2025 are eligible for return through Jan 31, 2026.
Returns from the continental U.S. are provided shipping labels free of charge. At this time we do not offer free returns and exchanges for international orders. Please reach out to Customer Experience for more information.
Final sale, engraved styles, and mystery items will not be accepted for a refund or exchange.
Our Holiday Advent Calendar and Beauty Box are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
Return Qualifications
Jewelry, Fragrance + Lifestyle Returns
- Return must be initiated within 30 days post purchase.
- Items must be in the original packaging — plastic bag and pink pouch.
- Only one fragrance return is permitted per customer.
Uncommon Beauty Returns
- Return must be initiated within 30 days post purchase.
- Items must be in the original packaging.

Bundle Returns
- Return must be initiated within 30 days post purchase.
- Bundles must be returned as a full set — partial returns will not be accepted.
- Items must be in the original packaging.
Return Processing
Once your return is received to our warehouse it may take 5-7 business days to process. All returns are quality checked once received. Refunds are dependent on the condition of the return and may be rejected if the return is deemed improper. We reserve the right to refuse a return for any reason.
What kind of return options are there?
Refund - A return for refund will go back to the original payment method used on the order. Please note, if you used a gift card to pay for a portion of the purchase, it will be refunded before your credit/debit card.
Store Credit - A return for store credit will generate a gift card that will be sent to your email on file once the return is processed. Gift cards expire 5 years from the date they are created.
Exchange - If you wish to exchange your items, you have two options.
- Exchange once returnedOnce we receive your original item and process your return, an exchange order will be created and begin its journey to you.
- Instant exchangeIf you need or want your new items quicker, you can do an instant exchange. We will ship out your exchange order immediately and a hold for the value of your original purchase will be placed on your card. Once your return is received we will release the hold. If the return is not sent within 14 days of initiating the exchange the charge will be posted.
No matter which option you choose, if you are exchanging for an item more expensive than your original purchase you will need to submit payment before a label can be generated.
What is an Instant Exchange?
We offer Instant Exchanges if you want your new item(s) to ship before sending your return back to us! In order to process an instant exchange you will need to put your credit card information in before completing your return form.
The Process
- Select the item(s) you intend to exchange
- Input your CC information
- Select Submit and your new item(s) will ship to you within 5 business days.
Making the Return
- You will receive a pre-paid shipping label/QR code.
- Returns must be sent within 14 days of creating your exchange.
Other Important Information
- There will be a $1 hold placed on your card. Once USPS scans your return, as long as it is within the 14 day return window, the hold will be dropped.
- If you do not return the items within the 14 day return period, your card will be charge the full amount of the item(s).
